forgetful me.
I almost forgot! Jessica from Vol.25 slipped in two adorable notepads with my print. The holiday checklist will be kept with our decorations and used...well, around holidays! The other notepad will be placed on our desk (I've actually been looking for a cute notepad!). This Virgo, and subsequently chronic list-maker, is incredibly grateful.
Thanks Jessica!
room to relax.
I am happy to say that our bedroom is ~90% finished. I plan to keep our space fairly simple as I have recently discovered I enjoy bedrooms with almost nothing over rooms with too much going on (I need a room where I can relax and take my mind off of the mcat, med school applications and 10-page papers). Yesterday, we received the much anticipated bound to you print from vol.25 and rushed off to Michaels to buy some frames. I hit the jackpot as it was the last day of their 50% off frames sale (yay!).
A few things to note:
A few things to note:
- I hate our wall paint, but we are not allowed to paint.
- Yes, I do realize we could easily be in an Ikea catalog, but we were on a tight budget when buying furniture. We have the Malm bedroom set in black-brown (sadly, I am under the impression they no longer carry this color); I love its sleek lines.
- Our lovely ABC Love card will complete our room (for now...) and I cannot wait for is arrival!

gray days.
I'm not sure if it's the weather, or just my overall love for the shade, but lately all I've been wanting to wear and buy is anything and everything gray. If I could have it my way, these are a few lovely items I'd love to pick up:
1. Proenza Schouler ($795) 2. Miu Miu ($575) 3. Alexander McQueen ($4,895) 4. Lanvin ($605) 5. Rupert Sanderson ($725) 6. 3.1 Philip Lim ($310) 7. Devi Kroell ($1,290) 8. Miu Miu ($1,520) 9. Emanuel Ungaro ($1,730)
The crowning of the color of 2009 over at Coco+Kelley will continue next week...and gray is a strong competitor. I can't wait to see if my favorite color (or shade?) will win. (I won't be too sad if pink, or green, wins either.)

impatiently waiting.
My latest purchases:
Buy Organic Card (Save Earth Collection) also from MadeByGirl
bound to you from vol.25
Both of these awesome artists also have equally cool blogs: MadeByGirl and Vol.25.
I am anxiously awaiting these prints and cannot wait to hang them (the cards, as well as the large print, will be slipped into some frames and hung in our bedroom and kitchen)!

bring on spring please.
I am over winter. Five years in Tucson has not prepared me for east coast winters and I am fully ready for warmer months to arrive. I am craving warm, sunny weather and am ready to begin my shopping for spring and summer. If I were not living on a grad student budget my picks for spring 2009 are:
DVF. always appropriate.
Emilio Pucci. perfect for warm evenings.
Fendi. classic muted tones ideal for work in the summer months.
Alexander McQueen. my favorite so far with fuchsia and gray.

new favorite person.
I'd like you all to meet my new favorite person as not only is she a fellow lover of Nutella, but she shared an awesome Nutella cookie recipe with the world (originally posted at Cookies on Friday). I will be making these on Friday...I'd make them today but I HAVE to study for the MCAT (ughhhh), don't think I have enough Nutella in our pantry (and don't feel like treking it to the store...that's about 0.5 miles from our house), and should probably wait for Steve to get back from Dallas (his new work destination every week...take care of him Texas!) so I don't eat all of the cookies.

color crazy.
This is by far the coolest cake I have ever seen. I may have to try it sometime...It'd be an awesome birthday cake.
